Slimming World 101

Everyone’s always looking for the next best diet and I’m here to tell you why you need to consider Slimming World.

I’ve tried every diet in the book from Weight Watchers, The Cambridge diet, Slimfast, Herbalife, 5:2, Keto (I was one hangry b**** during my 2-day trial, my poor colleagues!) literally every diet under the sun – as I do love a fad diet. The diet plan I come back to though, time and time again, and which is the most successful for a Britalian who LOVES her carbs – is Slimming World. I honestly see it as a lifestyle because you CAN live your life and still lose weight (trust me on this!)

So How Does it Work?

The Slimming World programme essentially is based on eating food that has filling power.

1) Free Food

Free Foods include food that you can eat unlimitedly. Lean meat, eggs, fish, pasta, rice, potatoes, fruit and vegetables. They’re filling and low in calories for their weight — so you can eat as much Free Food as you like. No weighing.

AND You can have carbs!! Yes you read that RIGHT!

2) Healthy Extras

Alongside the free food you can also have a measured amount of Dairy and Fibre these are known as Healthy Extra A and B. On the plan you can have 2 measured portions of Healthy Extra A which includes milk and cheese and 1 Health Extra B which includes a measure portion of bread, cereals, nuts and healthy oils.

3) Syns for other food

This includes foods higher in calories, like a glass of wine, sweets, oil, chocolate, biscuits and depending on your height and weight you can usually enjoy 10-15 Syns a day.

Yes! All of these are snacks allowed on Slimming World! In moderation though of course. 😉

So there you have it. A snippet of how the plan works!

I recommend going to a group and getting the new members talk from a consultant, as a beginner it can take a while to understand.

I hope you follow my journey and my recipes I’ll be posting!
